According to the Belgian Foreign Minister, his country is committed to give these peace efforts the best possible chance to succeed and is actively contributing to their implementation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe remain a strong and credible long-standing actor in the Great Lakes region,\u201d said Mr. Pr\u00e9vot. \u201cWe conveyed to President Tshisekedi the firm support of Belgium and, more broadly, that of the European community of states.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
This visit comes at a critical time, as multiple diplomatic frameworks including those based in Luanda, Nairobi, and Doha are currently being explored to resolve the persistent conflicts in eastern Congo. The support of Belgium and the wider European Union is seen as crucial to lending international legitimacy and resources to these peacebuilding efforts.<\/p>\n
