According to the former diplomat, too many victims have been forced into silence by fear, repression, and systematic oppression.
Speaking with gravity, Vianney emphasized that it is now crucial for Rwandans to express their pain and suffering publicly, to ensure the world hears their truth. He called on victims and their families to create videos or written testimonies in Kinyarwanda, French, English, or any other language they can use, sharing their experiences with the international community.
“For over three decades, countless families have suffered in silence, their voices stifled by fear and injustice,” Vianney declared. “It is time for them to rise, to overcome their fear, and to make their voices heard.”
He stressed that as long as silence persists, those responsible for the suffering will continue to rule with impunity. Only by speaking out, he insisted, can the cycle of fear and repression be broken, and true justice be pursued.
According to Vianney, the crimes committed under Kagame’s regime must not be allowed to fade into obscurity. “Each testimony is a light against the darkness. Each voice raised is a force against oblivion,” he said, calling for collective bravery and unity among Rwandans.
The former ambassador’s message carries not only a demand for justice but also a call for healing and national reconciliation. His words underline the importance of courage and solidarity in building a future where every Rwandan, regardless of their ethnic background, can live freely and without fear.
Jean-Marie Vianney concluded his appeal by invoking a blessing on all Rwandan families and expressing hope for a Rwanda that can finally reclaim its honor, its truth, and its lasting peace.
