Jean-Pierre Bemba, Vital Kamerhe, Modeste Bahati Lukwebo, Christophe Mboso, Jean-Michel Sama, Augustin Kabuya, were appointed this Wednesday as members of the presidium of the Sacred Union for the Nation, the political and electoral platform of Félix Tshisekedi.
They will have the mission to make this group triumph in the next elections. They say they are aware of the need to form a large coherent political gathering, with a political leadership able to integrate the diversity of political and social forces in order to face the future electoral challenges, to coordinate more effectively action in the service of the Nation.
The political parties, as well as the personalities who are members of the USN undertake in particular to support and defend the leadership of their High Political Authority. They also promise to refrain from any initiative likely to compromise the achievement of the vision and political action of the High Political Authority. They promise to cultivate and maintain an atmosphere of cordial understanding, harmony, solidarity and cohesion between members by undertaking no deliberate action to destabilize another member. On a purely political level, they undertake to accept the list of candidates selected by the competent leaders of the USN and support it, according to the practical arrangements adopted. They even promise to contribute financially to the operation of the platform.
To make the platform more effective, a consultation framework has been created within each parliamentary chamber which includes elected representatives from political parties and groups, members of the USN.
The formalization of the USN as an electoral platform comes a few days after the ministerial reshuffle which saw Jean-Pierre Bemba, Vital Kamerhe and Mbusa Nyamwisi return to the center stage around Félix Tshisekedi.
