The high-level discussions focused on deepening cooperation in key areas including peace and security, regional stability, trade, infrastructure development, and economic collaboration. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working together to address shared challenges affecting the Southern and Central African regions.
President Ramaphosa emphasized South Africa’s continued support for peace initiatives in the Democratic Republic of Congo, highlighting the importance of dialogue and multilateral engagement in restoring stability. President Tshisekedi, for his part, welcomed South Africa’s role in regional peace efforts and underscored the need for stronger economic partnerships that promote sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
The meeting also reviewed progress on bilateral agreements and explored new opportunities for collaboration within regional frameworks such as the African Union and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
